Four people are hospitalized after fans crush Asake's London concert.

Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake was forced to cancel his sold-out show at the O2 Academy Brixton in the middle of it due to crowds of people, many of whom did not have tickets.

According to reports, ticketless fans attempted to break down the venue's doors on Thursday night, forcing the sold-out show to be called off halfway through.

According to police, four people were critically injured and four others were hospitalized after a crush at the south London concert venue.

At 21:35 p.m. (2135 GMT), police and other emergency services were called to the O2 Academy in Brixton after reports that "a large number of people were attempting to force entry to the venue."

"They arrived to find a number of people with injuries believed to have been caused by crushing.

"Detectives are looking into the circumstances that resulted in four people receiving critical injuries," the Metropolitan Police said.

Two “less seriously injured” people were treated at the scene while the eight others were taken to hospital by ambulance.

According to the Met, no arrests have been made.

"This is a very upsetting incident that has left four people critically ill in the hospital," said Commander Ade Adelekan.

"A police investigation has been launched, and it will be as thorough and forensic as is required to determine exactly what occurred last night."

He added that specialist officers will investigate the scene and CCTV footage, but he urged anyone with information to come forward.
