Earlier, the Beatz Awards' Chief Executive Officer, Elijah John, stated that the event would recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the creative minds behind music production, business, and distribution.

John, who praised sponsors for believing in the Beats Awards, explained that it is a Nigerian music awards show that debuted on November 15, 2015.

"We must recognize the talents that lie beneath the stars; these are the people who make these things happen."

"We want to educate people about how rich the industry is and how they can tap into the potential, even if they are working behind the scenes," John explained.
