2000s fashion

The fashion of the wearing slim-fit formal wear; Popular is often described as a global mash up,with trends fusing vintage styles, global and ethnic clothing (e.g., boho), and the fashions of numerous music-based subcultures. Hip-hop fashion was generally the most popular among young people of all sexes, followed later in the decade by the retro-inspired indie look.
Those aged 25 and up adopted a dressy casual look that was popular throughout the decade.

y2k fashion(2000 fashion)

When the 2000s began, technology had a significant impact on fashion. Around the year 2000, a monochromatic futuristic approach to fashion became popular, with metallics, shiny blacks, a heavy use of gray, straps, and buckles becoming popular. "Y2K fashion" was the term for this. The clothing was designed to be as dark, reflective, technological, and sexy as possible. When the first iPod was released in 2001, the white earbuds, as well as the device itself, became something of a status symbol for early adopters.

Casual elegance

The early 2000s saw the continuation of many mid and late 1990s fashions, such as the military look, in Africa, Europe, North America, East Asia, South America, and Oceania, due to the continued influence of teen pop stars such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, while also introducing newer more vaguely dystopian post modern trends. Women wore long-sleeved shirts with bell sleeves, cowl-neck tops, crop tops, Burberry, hoodies, flare jeans, hip-huggers, low rise pants, white jeans, whale tails, cargo pants (especially ones made of silk, satin, and velvet), daisy dukes, thong underwear, and solid bright-colored tights beginning in 2001.

It was a gradual shift to conservatism, as evidenced by how jeans began low-rise in response to the sexy Y2K style and progressed through various waistlines and leg widths. As previously stated, logos became a form of stability and comfort in fashion. Because everyone was buying the same brands and wearing the same logos, there was a sense of unity in the country.

First-wave revival of the 1980s

Although the 1980s fashion revival did not begin in earnest until 2001, the first movement began in the late 1990s and lasted into the early 2000s. This first wave concentrated on the early 1980s. Denim miniskirts, ripped "distressed" jeans, denim jackets, tracksuits, trench coats (often in pleather), puffy jackets (revived by Hip-Hop artists), and preppy polo shirts with popped collars were among the trends that emerged during this time period. These were popular until around 2008, when late 1980s fashions were revived.

Low-top sneakers, such as Skechers, Heelys, Adidas shoes, Reebok shoes, and Nike, were popular among European and American women and girls, as were knee-high boots with spiked heels and pointed toes (or conversely, thick low heels and round or square toes). White belts, aviator sunglasses, trucker hats, hoop earrings, block heeled mary janes, leg warmers (worn with mini skirts),  ugg boots, flip-flops, jelly shoes,lace-up sandals, newsboy caps, ponchos, and jelly bracelets were popular accessories in the early 2000s.

Sex and the City

Sex and the City, an American television series, influenced how women cared about fashion and shopped. The show portrayed women as empowered consumers, each with their own distinct style who shopped for what they wanted rather than what they were told to wear. The main characters went on to become fashion icons, inspiring window displays, clothing lines, magazines, and women all over the world. The main character, Carrie Bradshaw, is credited with making Manolo Blahnik a household name due to her obsession with the Spanish designer's high-heeled shoes. Stilettos, designer handbags (with two episodes centered on the latest "It bag"), large fabric flowers, and berets are among the trends inspired by the show.

Mid 2000s (2003–2006)

The early and middle years of the 2000s saw a huge increase in demand for it products. Kate Spade wallets, Prada sneakers, Christian Dior saddle bags, designer-brand jeans like True Religion low-rise boot-cut jeans and 7 for all Mankind skinny jeans, Juicy Couture velour tracksuits, Balenciaga cargo pants, Von Dutch trucker hats, and Takashi Murakami's collaboration with Louis Vuitton for their iconic It bag are just a few examples of some of the highly sought-after It items of the mid-2000s.

Late 2000s (2007–2009)

retro-style clothing

In the latter part of the 2000s, styles from the 1950s and the 1980s gained popularity. These included Letterman jackets, black leather jackets like the Perfecto, windbreakers, dashiki or Hawaiian shirts, ski jackets, slim and straight-leg jeans, wool topcoats, Ed Hardy T-shirts with low necklines, neon colors influenced by the rave scene, roll-sleeve tartan flannel shirts worn with white T-shirts, cardigans, and knit

Men frequently accessorized in the late 2000s with vintage Rolex, Casio G-Shock, Patek Philippe, and Ray-Ban watches, as well as horn-rimmed spectacles with a geek chic vibe. Sperry Top-Siders, Keds, motorcycle boots, Nike Air Jordans, checkerboard-pattern Vans, and Converse All-Stars were popular shoes in both Europe and America.

Slim-fit suits

The shape of suits changed in the workplace in Europe as the three-button jackets prevalent in the 1990s were replaced with suits influenced by the 1950s that included a two-button blazer and matching pants, while the power suit made a reappearance in the US.

European single-breasted suits were frequently worn with slim ties and waistcoats and occasionally had contrasting Edwardian style piping on the lapels.

Youthful attire(Hip hop fashion)

Emo, indie kids, scene kids, psychobilly, preppy, skater, goth, nu metal (also known as moshers in the UK), ravers, and hip hop, particularly the British chav, US gangsta rapper, and Mexican Cholo styles of the early 2000s, all had a significant impact on youth design.

Hip-hop style

By the conclusion of the decade, American hip hop fans' fashion had evolved from the drooping, baggy gangster pants of the late 1990s to a more nostalgic style.

Wide-leg jeans, baseball jackets, Nike Air Jordan sneakers, tracksuits, sweatpants, bucket hats, stunna sunglasses, fur-lined puffer coats, and flat-brim trucker hats or baseball caps were popular items of clothing (often retaining the store label).

Many well-off white jocks and preppies adopted the gangsta look in the early 2000s, abandoning the conservative, semi-formal appearance of the 1980s and 1990s in favor of gold bling, pricey designer clothing, sneakers, dark denim, and sweatpants.

Rich girls who dressed like this were referred to as Queen Bees, plastics, or airheads and thought that being popular depended on wearing luxury apparel.

The cholos and chicanos, who dressed like Mexican prison gangs by donning baggy khaki pants, gold chains, white T-shirts, and styled back hair or shaving their heads, were another prevalent American subculture.
