United Manchester FOR SALE: The Glazers confirm they are willing to sell the Premier League giants after a 17-year reign, just hours after announcing Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.

Bankers and lawyers have been tasked with providing advice on the process, which could result in a partial sale or a new partnership with third parties.

However, it appears that a full sale of the club is the most likely option, with the Glazers deciding that after years of fan protests, the time has come to relinquish control.

United will be advised by The Raine Group, an American bank that successfully sought a buyer for Chelsea earlier this year.

According to a club statement, "the process is designed to enhance the club's future growth, with the ultimate goal of positioning the club to capitalize on opportunities both on and off the field."

"As part of this process, the Board will consider all strategic alternatives, including new club investment, sale, or other transactions involving the Company."

"There can be no assurance that the review being conducted will result in any transaction involving the Company," United added.

"The strength of Manchester United rests on the passion and loyalty of our global community of 1.1 billion fans and followers," Avram and Joel Glazer said.

"As we seek to build on the Club's track record of success, the Board has authorized a thorough evaluation of strategic alternatives."

"We will assess all options to ensure that we best serve our fans and that Manchester United takes advantage of the significant growth opportunities available to the Club today and in the future."
