Shakira and Burna Boy Light Up Burberry's Christmas Campaign

Shakira and Burna Boy are the faces of the luxury British brand's new campaign, "The Night Before," which was shot and directed by Torso.

The campaign begins with a short film in which Burna Boy walks through soft snowfall in a quilted nova check jacket with black angel wings attached and a Santa-esque sack printed with the house's signature print brimming with presents.

Shakira appears in the same video wearing a sheer tulle gown encrusted with crystals, as seen on Lila Moss at the 2022 Met Gala, with silverware and other objects flying around her.

The campaign incorporates design elements from former Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci's tenure, which ended in September.

Burberry reported record revenue and higher-than-expected profits in fiscal 2021-22, despite Chinese lockdowns, Ukraine's war, and skyrocketing inflation in the United Kingdom, in May.

Former Bottega Veneta creative director Daniel Lee has been named Tisci's successor, and his vision for the brand will be unveiled in 2023.

Last week, before the London premiere of Marvel's superhero blockbuster "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," the Italian-born designer revealed his plans to revive his eponymous namesake label on Instagram, with actress Michaela Coel wearing his design, hinting at what's to come in the near future.

"The first time I met Michaela, I knew she represented and expressed everything a woman means to me — freedom, beauty, a sense of adventure," Tisci said.
