Fans of Nigerian music star Ayo Balogun, aka Wizkid, have been let down after the singer failed to appear at a concert in Ghana.
Wizkid Live Concert was to be the first time the Afrobeats sensation headlined a show in the West African country.
Wizkid had confirmed his attendance via a tweet hours before the event, but the Grammy winner did not show up.
"Tonight at Accra Sports Stadium," he tweeted from his verified account.
Around 40,000 fans were expected at the event venue, Accra Stadium, with the majority of them showing up.
The show was also supposed to be the singer's first performance in Africa of his new album, 'More Love, Less Ego.'
Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, the musician apologized to his fans for his absence from the event.
He stated on Twitter that there were production and safety issues.
He did, however, promise that a new date and details for the concert would be announced shortly.
