Maren Morris supports Meghan Markle amid the ongoing backlash over her new documentary.

Maren Morris defended Meghan Markle during a discussion of the former actress's new documentary, Harry & Meghan.

The haters, according to the Chasing After You singer, are trolling the Duchess of Sussex for allegedly taking Prince Harry away from the Royal family.

"This profound hatred and annoyance at Meghan Markle specifically — mostly coming from women, I have to say — it's unfathomable to me," Morris said in a TikTok video.

"People say a woman should never take a man away from his family, and that's all this is," she continued. "Did you see his family?"

Morris went on to mention several historic royal events in which royal members were forced to leave the family in order to live with the person they loved.

She told her fans that Queen Elizabeth's uncle left the family "because they wouldn't let him marry the woman he loved [wife Wallis Simpson] because she was divorced."

The singer then spoke about the late Queen's sister, Princess Margaret, and her heartbreaking story. "[She] did not leave the family," she said, "but I kind of wish she had."

"With the exception of [late Princess] Diana, Princess Margaret's story is one of the saddest," Morris contended. "And when you talk about Princess Di, she didn't abandon her children, but she abandoned the family."

"I can only speak as an American who is fascinated by this stuff," Morris continued, "but people have been annoyed by royals or a specific member of the royal family for centuries."

"So, we're only living in this era of everything being so front-and-center, with people getting Netflix documentaries and whatnot.

"This all feels very focused on one woman, as it has almost always done in history." So, I'm not sure," Morris admitted.
