Kanye West's honorary doctorate degree has been revoked.

Kanye West's honorary degree has been revoked by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

In the aftermath of his months-long hate speech rhetoric, the college reportedly decided to cut ties with the rap star by withdrawing the honorary doctorate degree he received in 2015.

"The School of the Art Institute of Chicago condemns and repudiates Kanye West's (now known as Ye) anti-Black, anti-Semitic, racist, and dangerous statements," SAIC officials said in a statement.

"Ye's actions are inconsistent with SAIC's mission and values, so we have revoked his honorary degree."

SAIC has been under increasing pressure from their students, who started an online petition on change.org demanding that West's degree be revoked.

The group received over 4,100 signatures.

"In 2015, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago awarded the artist Kanye West an Honorary Doctorate," according to the petition's description.

"This award bestows the School's legitimacy and luster on a figure who has made repeated public statements in recent months expressing and justifying anti-semitism."

"Regardless of his prior contributions, it is harmful to allow Ye, as he is now known, to continue to use the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to legitimize hatred and violence."

Since early October, the Yeezy boss has made headlines for his anti-Semitic social media outbursts.

In an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones last week, West praised Adolf Hitler, claiming that he saw "good things" about the former Nazi Germany leader.

On the same day, Elon Musk tweeted that Ye's Twitter account had been suspended for violating the company's anti-incitement-to-violence policy.

Ye also enraged many black people by selling "White Lives Matter" T-shirts and implying that George Floyd died as a result of fentanyl use, rather than the force of former officer Derek Chauvin, who was convicted of murder after kneeling on Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes.

The 45-year-old businessman has been dropped by Adidas and Gap, among others, as a result of the ongoing backlash over his controversial remarks.

Adidas has also opened an investigation into his actions.
