Elon Musk, the billionaire businessman, has announced his resignation as Twitter's Chief Executive Officer.
Musk made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday, following the results of a poll he conducted to determine whether he should step down as CEO.
He has, however, stated that he will only step down if he has found a successor who is "foolish enough to take the job."
Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.

“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams,” Musk tweeted.
The billionaire had promised to follow the results of a Twitter poll in which 57.5% of users voted "yes" to him stepping down.
Since purchasing the social media site in October, Elon Musk has fired roughly half of its employees and attempted to roll out Twitter's paid-for verification feature before putting it on hold.
The feature was re-launched last week, as he has always stated that his primary goal in acquiring Twitter is to promote free speech.
